1 step
Approximately 4 times the fixed quota of students are selected first for each admissions category in accordance with the criteria set by CSIA admissions committee.
2nd Step
The accepted students are chosen based on the tallied score of a document screening from the 1st step and an in-depth interview from the 2nd step of the admissions process. (The ratio between 1st step and 2nd step in tallying the scores is determined by the CSIA admissions committee.)
Tie-break procedure
When more than two students tie as a result of the 2-step selection process, the following criteria are applied to break the tie.
(1) high score from an academic aptitude evaluation (2nd step)
(2) high score from an English interview (2nd step)
(3) high score from a document screening (1st step)
A vacancy resulting from a non-enrollment or a refusal to attend the school after enrollment shall be filled up by an applicant who scored the highest during the admission process. (But, those who choose not to enroll are required to submit a parents's letter of non-enrollment.)
The applicants for the 2nd step process shall be asked to pay extra money that covers in-depth interview expenses.

An academic aptitude evaluation of those applicants of foreign nationality and excellent local students shall be made by CSIA admissions committee based on the combined scores from a document screening and an in-depth interview.
Children of veterans and patriots are subject to an identical admissions process with applicants for the regular admissions category and thus going to be evaluated as such.

Admitted students are all required to check into the school dormitory and receive a physical check-up before enrollment.
