Student Council

 

The Student Council's(commonly known as school president & vice president) ultimate purpose is to have students in charge of yielding positive student activities on campus. Improving the system for student convenience, promoting unity and cooperation through festi-vals, fundraising for the public good, and enhancing career engagement through clubs and activities are only a small portion of what the Student Self-Governing Council carries out.

Engagements

  • Taking responsibility for overseeing and planning student-sponsored festivals (Cheongsim Festival, Christmas, Halloween, etc.)
  • Discussing and settling suggestions risen during student activities with the school
  • Fundraising for events in need of finance for the public good
  • Creating a free academic atmosphere and activating the operation of clubs and student-led projects
  • Actively improving campus life and culture through operating a Student Advising Center
  • Opening and operating a separate website for the convenience of student life
  • Promoting club activities and providing a venue for academic exchanges through the academic conference
  • Promoting school sports culture and promoting cooperation through the Varsity Committee
  • Setting up a venue for student public talk at the end of the semester so that students themselves could share the enlightenment and insights they gained during school life and could be encouraged to develop their own school life
  • Organizing a community of artists to hold regular exhibitions, fashion shows, concerts, etc. to promote diversity in career and experience

Academic Affairs Department

 

The department of Academic Affairs hosts a variety of academic and career-related programs that promote self-directed learning envi- ronment in school and shares educational resources with students.

Engagements

  • holding mock tests to prepare for domestic and international universities such as SAT, AP and more
  • fostering self-organized study groups and mentoring programs
  • making guidelines and tips for courses and school life
  • arranging career lectures and internships
  • student-directed projects
  • any other academic and career related activities

Student Court

 

CheongShim International Academy Student Court is an independent self-governing community for students' liberty and rights.

Engagements

  • resolving conflicts and interpreting student bylaws when a student files a complaint.
  • writing dormitory regulations and the school's human rights ordinances.
  • revising student bylaws that violate the Ordinance of Student Rights.
  • giving penalties for student members violating the school policy

School Promoting Department

 

The school promoting department plans and manages all events and activities related to school promotion. In particular, by organizing the School Visit Day, we directly promote the school to visitors and those who may be interested in our school.

Engagements

  • hosting the School Visit Day and participating in the event to greet guests
  • planning and conducting Q&A related to school education programs and life
  • planning a school tour event for the guests to visit the main facilities and be introduced to the overall systems of the school
  • PR model activity: As a student ambassador, members act as public relations model and contributes to promoting the school externally by participating in school promotional videos and publicity brochures as models
  • Media PR activities: Members produce school promotional materials such as school promotional videos and school introduction posters to promote the school via social media

Student Communications Department

 

The Student Communications Department is in charge of fostering an environment where students feel free to engage with one another. In doing so, members of the department partake in designing, photography, event planning, and more. Hence, they acquire skills in many areas, allowing them to become accustomed to an array of skill sets.

Engagements

  • holding annual manitto events.
  • managing the CheongShim Mentorship Program (CSMP)
  • managing the school newspaper That Week in CheongShim
  • taking photos of in-school events (CheongShim Press).

Student Athletics Department

 

Student Athletics Department strives to create a healthy and safe sports culture for students. We conduct activities to help students become interested in and enjoy sports.

Engagements

  • hosting official school sports competitions
  • introducing sports/stretching/first aid related information
  • managing the school varsity team
  • managing water slide safety (at school festivals)
  • other sports-related activities

Student Prefect Department

 

The Student Prefect Department provides students with various services that improve the quality of life in CSIA, in addition to guiding students in order to maintain order throughout the school.

Engagements

  • supervising the cafeteria during lunch
  • managing the lost & found items
  • turning the lights at the school off at night for energy conservation
  • organizing the class performances in various festivals
  • any other activities for providing more convenient and orderly student life at CSIA

Student Clubs Department

 

The Student Clubs Department helps students make a club related to their careers and aptitude. We arrange an environment where students can participate in various activities through clubs at school.

Engagements

  • holding Club Expositions
  • operating all clubs in the school
  • making guidelines about club management method
  • organizing the club information session
  • selecting outstanding clubs every semester
  • managing club booths at school events

Planning Department

 

The planning department coordinates various school events to arrange a place for presenting art and culture, encourage students to develop a spirit of cooperation and community, and invigorate students' lives at school.

Engagements

  • CSIA festival
    (the two-day-long main festival at CSIA where students perform on stage, run student-led pop-up booths, conduct club activities, etc.)
  • parties, including Halloween and Christmas
  • leading events to promote relations between school faculty and students
  • Graduation ceremony
  • Any other events to bring students together

School Environmental Department

 

The School Environmental Department implements various projects to foster the students' awareness of the environmental crisis and helps them practice environment conservation in their school lives. The department members plan and execute projects and spread the value of the environment to students.
